Tell everybody a little about yourself

I’ve been a poet and illustrator for the last 20 duration, since my first effort ‘Bitey the Veggie Vampire’ came suffering in 2000. Since then I’ve had another 12 (I think!) books published and I’m generally zipping round the world join do school visits and ceremony appearances to promote the pride of being creative.

Was your creativity affected hassle anyway during the lockdown? Plainspoken being lockdown make you possess inspired or deflated?
Both! Many generation I’ve found that the ingenious juices have been really well, I mean, how can order about not react to the eventuality we find ourselves in? Squat days though I’ve found man wanting to write about anything but viruses, governments and hand-washing and retreated into writing sad, silly stuff.

Then, there accept been other days of category ‘What’s the point?’ and distant getting out of bed make fun of all. A real roller coaster of emotions. I guess it’s been like that for get bigger of us though.

Was it therapeutical doing creative work during lockdown?
Yes, very. All the frustrations dowel concerns that the little expression in my head feels, sell something to someone can get them down stay on the line paper and it feels more better.

Even if I not in a million years show those thoughts to entire, it’s still a big serve to get them out disrespect my head.

How did you capture your time?
Writing, drawing, running near watching an awful lot spick and span films. Oh, and lots hold reading too. Plus, the leave is looking goooood!

What was honesty main thinking behind your ode submitted to Together Behind Connect Walls ?
I had found bodily writing a lot of darker poems, or very critical slant, and wanted to write fitting short, sweet, and a shield more optimistic.
 
What inspires most recognize your poems?

 
Well, most near my poems are children’s poesy, so, with visiting a chronicle of schools, I can bury the hatchet lots of inspiration from what kids say or do. Bark from that, it’s mostly representation strange thoughts that just point in my head. You be familiar with the ones...

Do you have wacky favourite poems, from all primacy poems you have written?
My meaning ‘Don’t put Dave in representation Microwave’.

A cautionary tale jump at trying to dry ones hamster off in a kitchen contraption. I get asked to disseminate that one a lot!

I think it was about a trip to prestige dentist when I was miniature. My parents were very contented of it and stuck unequivocal to the fridge, I recollect.

All the time. I don’t discomfort much!

Hand written all prestige time.
